Based on this 2014 survey, 7 out of 10 Americans brush their teeth twice a day (as they are supposed to). Therefore, we can conclude that of the estimated 318.9 million people living in America, 223.23 million (223,230,000,000) Americans brush their teeth twice a day. Our own survey estimated that, while roughly 90% (200,907,000,000 people) are satisfied with their current toothbrush, an approximated 64% (142,867,200,000 people) would be more inclined to floss if it was dispensed out of the bottom of their toothbrush and, as a result, more convenient.
In addition, we found that 50% of Americans suffer from gingivitis and that 40% of Americans lack dental insurance. Oral hygiene is an issue for many of the Americans that fall into these categories. A product that aids people with taking care of their oral health will have a positive impact on these people's lives.

Summary
Part B was all about looking into existing solutions for the problem we decided on. We found plenty of existing patents similar to the design we were considering, but none are actually sold as products. Even though we found existing patents that were similar, none of the designs were the exact same as what we plan on doing. By looking at what is already available to solve the problem with oral hygiene we are able to refine our design based on what we believe is beneficial or detrimental. In Part B we also did some research about how many people brush their teeth to decide who will be potential users of our product.
