Winning Design Description
Our product is meant to promote better hygiene among the millions of people that brush their teeth every day. We intend to accomplish this by incorporating multiple good hygiene habits into one convenient product. Dentist recommend that you replace your toothbrush every 3-4 months. To encourage this, we have created a toothbrush with a specific amount of floss to be dispensed from the bottom of the device. This amount of floss is meant to last roughly 100 days, which is when the toothbrush should be changed. By doing this, we hope to see people using this product to brush their teeth and floss daily, then replace their toothbrush in a timely fashion and therefore have proper dental hygiene.
Our product design has a head similar to that on a normal, everyday toothbrush (with an added tongue scrapper on the back for those who also use it), with a thicker bottom end roughly the same diameter as an electric toothbrush. The handle will have grips in it that make it more ergonomic. At the bottom, there is a hinged cap that covers the dispensed floss and cutter. The floss is wound inside of the handle in such a way that makes it easy for one to pull and dispense the allotted amount. The length of the handle is the length of floss one should use in daily use. By including that small detail into our product, we have made the product even more easy to use and convenient, and have also insured that there is roughly 100 days' worth of floss inside of the toothbrush.
